Copper Moon Still Builder Derek Spence gives you a quick video tour of our basic and advanced still sets.

From brilliantly simple to simply brilliant, your still
will be the best we build.

All Copper Moon stills are fully functional systems that include a boiler, a thump keg and a sealed shotgun worm. Connect the piping, plug it in – and you’re a distiller.

All of our systems – including our basic packages – feature a pressure relief valve, a vacuum breaker, three thermometers, and a drain valve in each tank.

Stills over 10 gallons incorporate a 1650W / 120V element in the main boiler and 1.5'‘ piping throughout the system. Smaller stills contain a 1500W / 120V element and use 1'‘ piping.

Additional options can enhance the enjoyment, convenience and efficiency of your distilling experience. Our Still Builder will help you select the sizes and features best for your operation.

Basic system:

A basic still system consisting of a boiler, a thump keg, and a sealed shotgun worm tank.

Every Copper Moon Still includes these standard features:

  • A ball valve in each tank for easy cleanup

  • Two removable 110v elements in the boiler

  • Three thermometers throughout the system to inform you on the stages of your run

  • 1.5” piping throughout the system for superior flow

  • A pressure release valve in each tank and a vacuum breaker as safety features

  • A thump keg one-third the volume of your boiler. Because our stills are made one at a time we are able to offer a true proportional setup for optimum efficiency

  • A sealed, shotgun worm. Unlike a traditional worm, this tank is sealed and the high pressure water flow that is pumped in also pushes the warm water out. So gravity doesn’t dictate where you can set up your system. The drain can be as far away as your outflow hose will reach, making it perfect for in-home hobby distilling

Advanced system:

A more advanced still system featuring many optional upgrades that enhance the ease, efficiency and enjoyment of your distilling experience.

This system includes all of our standard features and many available upgrades:

  • A whiskey head

  • A recirculating mash pump

  • Three 3” sight glasses

  • 1” fill-level sight glass

  • A dephlegmator head to boiler

  • An infusion port and tank on thump keg

  • 4” clean-out ports on the boiler and thump keg

  • An upgraded thump keg volume

  • A dephlegmator column above the thump keg

Pictured thump keg also features 110v heating element and a conical top.
